PETER WARD, AN APPRECIATION
RE PETER WARD
I got to know Peter (who was 98 when he died), several years before I joined HHLH&MS as we both wrote articles for Chambersbury News, our then Parish Magazine. I would often bump into him as we both approached Sainsbury's, and as someone over 30 years his junior, I was envious of his energy and the speed at which his long legs strolled towards the shop.
Peter wrote on many different subjects relating to our local history, but principally connected with John Dickinson's. Our interests merged as we both studied the various brickworks which grew up in and around Leverstock Green from Victorian times. We would share information as one or other of us came across a new snippet of information. You can read three articles which he wrote on the subject on my website at http://bacchronicle.homestead.com/Brickmaking.html
